The Lapeer and Upper Thumb Association of REALTORS® have been in business for over 50 years. In the early years we were known as Lapeer County Board of REALTORS®, then Lapeer Association of REALTORS®, and as of the year 2000 the Lapeer and Upper Thumb Association of REALTORS®, often referred to as LUTAR. Our name changed because the National Association of REALTORS® assigned a larger jurisdiction to the Association, covering Huron, Tuscola, Sanilac and Lapeer Counties.

The LUTAR Office is located at; 309 South Court Street, Lapeer, MI 48446. There are approximately 350 REALTOR® members that belong and 40 Affiliates. The Association operates very much like the Chamber of Commerce services the community. LUTAR prints county maps of Lapeer and Tuscola and does fund raising for various charities like Habitat for Humanity.

The Association provides education, professional standards, legal updates, legislative updates, candidate interviews, weekly news, MLS service etc. You can find the REALTORS® property listings from this area on the websites www.mithumb.com, www.realtor.com, www.allmichiganrealestate.com, www.absolutemichigan.com and www.mirealtors.com LUTAR also shares MLS services with the Flint Area Association of REALTORS®, the Saginaw Board of REALTORS® , Eastern Thumb Association of REALTORS® Downs River Association of REALTORS®, and Ann Arbor Association of REALTORS® . When you list with a REALTOR® who belongs to the Lapeer and Upper Thumb Association of REALTORS® your listing is actually advertised globally with the Internet Sites and the data sharing helps the LUTAR members to market their listings.
